ARTISTS STATEMENT:
Writing affords me
an opportunity to share
a veiled intimacy with my reader.
My writing is a celebration of
relationship with God, family,
and friends. I see words as a
beautiful palate of color with which
I paint a picture, and that picture
can come to life in the soul!
Brief Bio
I’ve written “silently” since high school. It was only when I began attending a (Potter’s Wheel) writers’ group that I took the step to share my writing with others.
My work has been published in compilation books, children’s calendar and as part of craft projects and framed art. I have created greeting cards for almost any occasion. I continue to look for new and creative ways to share the gift of poetry.
In 2015 I published an award winning Children’s Poetry Book, Something Good Inside of Me.
I have won several awards for individual poems in nationwide contests, Florida State Poets Association and the Florida NLAPW.
In 2022 My second book , First Moments Pregnancy Prayers & Ponderings, was published.
I am also a guest blogger for GrandKidsMatter.org. An online support for grandparents who are involved in their grandkids lives.

* B.S. in Child Development and Family Relationships from Colorado State 1974
* Member of The National League of American Pen Women, Inc. (NLAPW) since 2008. Served as Florida State Chaplain for several years.
* Member of Potter's Wheel, also was known as Creatively Called, 1996 -2015
* CLASS and CLASS Reunion graduate in September 2000
* Member of Word Weavers 2014-2016, 2022
* Member of FSPA (Florida State Poets Association) since 2015
* Graduate of the 12 Chairs Course for Poetry in May 2019
* Member of Journey Christian Church since 1999.
* Served in Womens’ Ministries since 1988 in three churches.
* Teaching Leader along with husband for Marriage Encounter and Engaged Encounter for many years.

I am married to Patrick since 1973. We have four married children and seven grandchildren.
